Quick note: Details of our Canal transit live on The Canal Webcam

If anyone would like to see us go through the Panama Canal, the Canal has live webcams, which show pictures every minute about Canal transits. The Website is:

http://www.pancanal.com/eng/photo/camera-java.html

We are scheduled to go through on Tuesday the 15th at

Pilot boarding time           1845/15th
Arriving Gatun locks         2016/15th
Clearing Gatun locks        2135/15th
Anchoring Gatun lake       2200/15th

This means, we will go through the locks here, the Gatun locks, between 20:16 hours and 21:35 hours. This is of course bad timing for German watchers, because it will be between 3:15am and 4:45am on the 16th. For Australian time it will be between 11:15am and and 12:45pm on the 16th.

So when you are on the website, go to the Gatun locks tab first. Once we are through the locks, we will anchor that night in the lake and sail through the other side on the 16th. We will go through the next locks (the mIrafloralocks) on the Pacific side about 7.5 to 8 hours after leaving in the morning. I think we might go through the pacific locks around 15:00 to 16:00 hours our time. (again bad for the germans, it will be around midnight, one a clock and for the australians, 6 or 7am on the 17th). So the times don't really suit for watching, but we are very excited!!!
